Kitano Tenmangu Shrine is located in the northern part of Kyoto and is renowned for its beautiful plum blossoms and vibrant autumn foliage.
However, in May, the fresh green maple leaves—known as “ao-momiji”—create a stunningly beautiful scene, even before the autumn colors arrive.

A river flows between the two areas, but the main highlight here is the stunning bridge that spans across it.
Many visitors stop here to take photos, so you might need to wait a little while to capture the perfect shot.

The bridge is surrounded by lush greenery, forming a tunnel-like canopy that offers a truly picturesque view.
Compared to the busy autumn foliage season, it’s much quieter during other times of the year, making it a highly recommended spot to visit.
